are there any dentist out there that work with people with payment plans that cannot afford what the insurance does not pay?

yes - but you have to shop around - some advertise it and some do not. I primarily see such advertisements by dentists in local newspapers and magazines, etc.

You can also look for something like "medical credit". I know Capital One has a credit plan for medical procedures, and my dentist offers a different one (but I don't remember the name of it).

These aren't ideal, so be careful and look closely at the terms and the APR and whatnot. But it is an option.

Hi Allison....you wanted a payment plan that a dentist uses
to cover your co pay correct or the amount the insurance does
not cover? I realize that can be a significant amount! I think
many dentists do just accept what insurance pays, but it most states that is illegal and the insurance company will come after the dentist if he advertises this. It looks like the
insurance pays 100% and it does not. If you have been with
this dentist long, he should accept the insurance and then
work out a payment plan with you even if it is $50 a month
with no interst until your bill is paid off.

People with no insurance and two options...one is care credit and the other is capitol one. They both are for
dental and other medical needs and some are interst free
the first year and are great if you can pay them off in the first year. You do not need much to qualify but a job and
a reference and a bank account. karen

You can also check into some dental schools, they take patients for free.
