The other day whilst at work I started to get a mild pain in one of my teeth.
(I should add that I've had cosmetic dentistry on the top front 6 teeth, 1 of which is the tooth that's hurting).
Yesterday it got
much worse, causing my gum and mouth to swell up considerably with SEEEERIOUS pain thats just been eating away at me. I'm also feeling very unwell.
I went straight to the dentist yesterday morning and was told that there was indeed an infection there but due to how inflamed and swollen it was the dentist told me there wasn't anything he could do till the swelling went down.
He gave me antibiotics and painkillers. The pain is so bad I've had to go back to the chemist to get extra strong painkillers.
Also just a few minutes ago I got a strange taste in my mouth, and upon looking in the mirror I noticed that quite a lot of blood is seeping through the tooth in question. I applied a little pressure to the swollen part of the gum and a lot more blood came out.
I'm very worried about this. Is this normal? Will antibiotics alone do? I'm in so much pain.
Just wondering if I should seek a second opinion?
Eagerly awaiting someones reply.
