| Re: Treating chronic periodontal disease
I can empathize. I brush 3 times a day, thoroughly. Not for 2 minutes for my whole mouth, but 2 minutes per arch. I floss twice a day and rinse with peridex, and go faithfully every 3 months for a cleaning, where my dentist is quite thorough.
All of this, not to get better, or have any kind of improvement, but just to remain stable. Sometimes I feel like periodontal maintenance is a matter of two proactive treatments (cleaning, and scaling/planing) to prevent further bone loss, and a matter of just waiting for the next thing to go wrong.
