Last night, myself and a couple of friends went to waffle house. I ordered an egg and cheese wrap, and as I took a bite, I felt a sharp pain in my bottom front tooth. I've never had this happen before. I had even eaten earlier that day, had been drinking cold water prior, and had felt nothing. Now it hurts when I run my tongue over it sometimes or when I suck my lip over it. Help?
Sounds like you may have an abcess. A toothache that is severe and continuous and results in gnawing or throbbing pain -- or sharp or shooting pain -- are common symptoms of an abscessed tooth. Tap the tooth gently with a metal object. If this causes a lot of pain, then chances are pretty good that's what it is.
It will only get worse. Call your dentist NOW and explain your symptoms.
