Allergic reaction to veneers? Help

I had veneers placed on my upper teeth about 9 months ago. Had no problems until about a month ago when my gums started burning. Called dentist; advised me to use a certain mouth wash which I did and it did help but now the burning is back again. Has anybody had this problem? Could I have an allergy to the dental cement/veneers? My gums are healthy, no bleeding. I thought I would try using a different toothpaste and try staying away from mint gum, spicy foods, etc. I'm careful to drink coffee, sodas, etc. with a straw.

ANY IDEAS?? HELP
