why do my dentures make me whistle

All teeth extracted 2 years ago. Got dentures. Neither fit well. I debated and had 3 consultations concerning implants for the lowers. Now I have the implants, plus had the upper plate relined.

Some improvement over all, but I whistle when I use an S word. My dentist says there is nothing that can be done about that.

Surely there is something that can be done to correct that.

Thank you.

Re: why do my dentures make me whistle

I had mine done 8 years ago. It took a long time until talking was
normal. I still catch myself whistling once in a great while.

Its just something I've learned to live with, at least its better than
all the pain I was in for 15 years before having it done.

If you are whistling when pronouncing your S words then there is something wrong and should be fixed. The teeth on your dentures are set wrong and need to be re-set in the proper position to eliminate the whistling. ABSOLUTELY it can be fixed, if your dentist says it cant, find one who can!
