exposed jawbone after oral surgery

i had my teeth pulled over three weeks ago, and the rest of my mouth is healing great but the whole right side of my bottom gum has exposed jawbone and the gum will not close over and it keeps absesing over and over, i understand that smoking reduces healing time, but its almost a month and i cant get fitted for dentures, these are not bone spurs, but it seems like my body is trying to work it out on its own,and could this be left over teeth because of 2 that were broke off down to the gumline. What do i do to close this opening?
