Pain after extraction

About two months ago, I got a tooth extracted (the top one, three from the right after the front teeth...don't know if this matters). The process was fine and I didn't have any pain right away.

However, now the other side of my mouth is sore. Most specifically, the exact same tooth on the left side of my mouth. When I put pressure on the bottom of that tooth I feel pressure and it has a dull pain...so it hurts when I chew on it. When I feel to the top of the root of that tooth there is a bit of a lump. I can't see it in the mirror, but if I touch it, it has the same pressure pain.

Is this still my teeth shifting after the extraction or is this something else?

Re: Pain after extraction

I think you should call your dentist and maybe have an x-ray done to make sure there is no infection. Many times a lump can be the start of an abscess. I doubt it has anything to do with your extraction as it is on the other side.

Best wishes...JJ...

Re: Pain after extraction

I agree, it sounds like it could be an abscess. Easily treatable, but have it looked at sooner rather than later.
