| | Wisdom tooth infection or Nerve pain. ?
To put it simply, I have a wisdom tooth that needs to be removed and was notified of that after my x-ray about a year ago. Up untill yesterday I had no problems and put off my appointment with the oral surgeon because of various mouth infections i kept getting (strep, yeast, etc). Yesterday I woke up worried because of the following symptoms I had that seemed to suddenly occur overnight: left side lower jaw pain, ear pain, neck pain and headache. There's been swelling and a overlapping gum around my bottom left wisdom tooth for as long as i can remmember and it doesn't seem to appear any different since all of this has happened. The only thing that helps with this epic pain is a strong dose of Ibuprofen and a nap. I really doubt its an infection because I just got done being on heavy duty antibiotics (Clindamycin 2x4 a day) for eight days to clear up a strep infection, but who knows I might be wrong. Right now my throat looks healed and clear, so i guess perhaps that whatever is going on isn't that bad. Could I have nerve pain from the tooth trying to come in. ? It's just that particular tooth that seem's to be having a problem, all of my other wisdom teeth grew in normally. I made a appointment for the actual surgery to take place on the 20th of June and the next day I come in to get other teeth pulled. What should I do in the meantime besides take Ibuprofen, shall I haul my bum to the emergency room. ? I can't see a Dentist before the surgery. Ah, Also I think I may a cyst near the jawline on the left side, it's somewhat painful...I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the wisdom tooth issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
