Question my mouth still feels strange after dental work

I have always been absolutely terrified of the dentist and have been putting off dealing with my dental issues for years. Recently I had to give in and have three wisdom teeth removed (one is actually a good healthy tooth that grew in straight and didn't need removal, one was grown in partially but was crooked and causing a large hole in the back, and the bottom two were still under the gums but definitely pushing on my lower teeth). My extraction sites are starting to feel more normal, but I still have trouble chewing food regularly. I think this is because I am still afraid to get food lodged in the holes even though they are healing well.
Two weeks after my wisdom tooth surgery, I had four composite fillings on the top right side of my mouth.
One week after that, I had four more composite fillings done (two lower left, two lower right).
Thankfully, I have now [almost] fully conquered my fear of the dentist. My problem is that it still feels weird to chew food. I hadn't been chewing much on the left side of my mouth for a long time anyway due to the bad cavity that was on that side, so it is no surprise to me that that side of my mouth feels more strange than the other. And there had been a pretty significant portion of that tooth missing so it's natural that my bite feels different now, right? I had to have the mirror tooth on the other side removed in high school so I have nothing to compare to on the opposite side of my mouth.
It has now been two weeks since my last round of fillings. Will my mouth ever feel 'normal' again?

Re: my mouth still feels strange after dental work

Over time, you will get used to it and it'll feel normal. When I got crowns on some teeth, it felt weird for a while, but you get used to it.

One thing to check though - did your dentist check your bite? and the alignment of the teeth after he did the fillings? sometimes fillings are too high and they cause your bite to be wrong. It's a simple fix at the dentist office - they have you bite and grind on a blue paper that marks high spots on your teeth. The dentist then uses a drill with a burr to smooth those places over.

He did check my bite with that blue paper, but my mouth was so numb it was hard to tell anything. That part seems to be fine, but I am still experiencing a bit of sensitivity. I'll make another appointment with my dentist just to make sure everything is okay. Thanks for your reply
