no cavity but tooth sensitive
I have had xrays & the tooth has no cavity but when I bite down the nerve is sensitive & I can't chew on it. What would cause this? Thank you.

Hi,
It's possible that there is a fine crack in the dentin of the tooth that exposes the nerve. Try using toothpaste for sensitive teeth.

Many times there is also a through crack too small to be seen on xray, but the periodontal ligament pulls at the tooth anyway causing pain.

If it still bothers you, it may need root canal treatment.
