I had a filling replaced yesterday by the dentist: he had to pack quite a bit of material in there after taking out the old filling.
The new filling goes a bit over the edge of the tooth and is abrasive. It irritates my tongue when I hit it.
I'm not sure if this is normal after having a filling (and that it will smooth out and become less irritating), or that I have to go back to the dentist.
Hi Silas1066 -- I've had a lot of dental work done in my life -- and I'm not sure that this will smooth out on its own. Sounds as if a call to your dental office and having a chat with a person there would give you your answer..........and make your holidays go much more comfortably if you could get in to see them within the next couple of days. I'd call soon if it were me.................
Hi,
I agree. All your dentist need do is smooth the filling with a buffer. Takes less than 5 minutes. Call his office and tell him it's irritating and you would like it buffed down. He/She should be able to do that for you.
