Recurring Bump Under Tongue
I have a bump under my tongue (attached to underside of tongue) that always comes back in the same spot. It is clear and sometimes it looks like there is a purple dot in the middle inside of it. It's very small, almost like a pimple. The first time it happened was in March of last year. It would start off as a little bump and progressively swell up as it got irritated from eating, moving my tongue, or squeezing it to get try and get rid of it (I no longer do this as it only makes it worse). Sometimes it would get smaller or appear to be dried out, but it was as if there was always a flap of skin hanging off my tongue. In the middle of the summer, I went to the dentist and he cauterized it. I thought the problem was solved, until the same thing occurred in the exact same spot. So I went to the dentist again in September and he cauterized it again seemingly doing a more thorough job. There were no problems until December, and I felt it for a day, yet it was only very small, and was gone the next day. Now, however, it has come back again in the same spot, and it is the same clear bump described in the beginning. I tried to leave it for a few days, but now it has just swollen up even more. Any ideas as to what this could be and how to treat it? I can feel it constantly and it is as if something is poking my tongue.
