Hi All,
I went in for a crown prep two days ago. Now all is o.k. except that when I bite down on anything hard on that temp. crown a get a mild twinge-like sensation. Is this normal? No sensitivity to heat/cold, etc.
Maybe it is hitting too high with the top/bottom tooth. This can be causing pressure on the other tooth. I had one of my crowns that did that for a long time, until my dentist finally got it ground down just right.
Thanks for your input. It does seem like it there is a lot of tooth there. Since it is a temporary I think I will just chew on the other side until I get the permanent crown.
A crown feels foreign in your mouth. Mine felt so large and took a long time to get used to. After a while, you will adjust to it. It's important to communicate with your dentist about the comfort of it, particularly when he places the permanent crown.
