Post Root Canal Question

I got a root canal on the left upper last molar on Thursday. I'm still pretty sore (can't really bite down well yet on the tooth but 1st day without Advil.) I noticed that behind the tooth...inner gum (where my tongue keeps hitting) there is a piece of skin missing (I can taste this as well) which I'm thinking was just "collateral damage" from the procedure (apparently I don't have much tooth left .) My question is what is the best way to heal this? I know any mouth sore takes a while to heal since it's always wet but was just looking for suggestions. Also Monday I'm due to get my permanent crown on and perm filling...is this too soon (4 days post root canal) to have this done? Thanks
