For the last couple days, I've had a problem with my gums. To preface, I am 20 almost 21, and don't have my wisdom teeth about and don't have to because of my bite (dentist said so). The pain is near the lower left wisdom tooth. When my mom looked back there, she said she couldn't she anything. Today she said there was a little white spot on it. In addition, and while the pain has remained the same, it has spread to the left side of my throat and left ear pain. It is only mild pain unless I move my mouth the wrong way, and then it is shooting pain to my lower left mouth. Any ideas???
It could be a canker sore, or it could also be an abscess. My recommendation is that you make an appt for your dentist to take a look. Mouth pain is known to radiate, so I wouldn't be too worried that you have pain in other areas, but I also wouldn't ignore it.
Rinse with warm salt water. Whether it is a canker sore or an abscess, it could help.
If it's an abscess you will need antibiotics.
Hi,
You mean you've had your wisdom teeth out already or they simply are not there?
All you mention sounds like a wisdom tooth trying to erupt through the gum. Or, it could be like slenderella says, a canker sore or abscess starting.
Either way a trip to your dentist would be in your best interests for xray and evaluation. Please don't put this off. Warm salt water rinses until you can get there could be beneficial as slenderella also mentioned.
GOOD LUCK and do let us know what your dentist finds.
Best to you,
Gellia
