Prognathism

I wanted to ask about Prognathism

Is it possible to this to develop due to someone manually moving their lower jaw forward themselves? which would also include them trying to move their bottom teeth infront of their top teeth in an unatural position?

Would this eventually cause the jaw/chin to protrude and stick out or does everything go back into place anyway?
