A filling on the last but one tooth on the bottom has come out. About a quarter sement of tooth is missing. The filling covered the top and side. It is not sensitive or painful. I can have this looked at on Wednesday. I am the process of changing my dentist. I can't see the new dentist for another month.

I am tempted to leave the tooth until I see the new dentist but I am concerned it is exposed. It has been fine the past weeek. Friends have suggested I use a tempory filling that you get over the counter but have no experience of this so I do not know if it will work and if so what happens if the cavity is not cleaned out properly.

There is nothing wrong with the dentist I could see on Wednesday but I do not have 100% faith like I would the new dentist. He filled the tooth which only lasted a year. The original lasted 15 years. May be something changed in the tooth stucture but I have a feeling the filling was not as good. The last filling was a tempory one that was ok as a permanent one apparently. I could not really get me head around this.

Anyway I would value the opinion of someone else who may have had a filling come and left it. Was it ok?
