| Pain 11 days after wisdom tooth extraction
Hi all, I'm new here and am looking for some thoughts on a troubling situation.
11 days ago, I had a non-impacted wisdom tooth removed. The removal was simply and took less than 5 minutes. However, I am still in pain near the removal site, 11 days later. Specifically, the teeth next to the removed tooth hurt. I can also feel the pain in my ear.
I went to the dentist this past Monday. He confirmed the site is healing just fine, no infection and no dry socket. He has no explanation for the pain I'm feeling, other than "referred pain" from the extraction site. I suppose that makes sense, but still 11 days later? I should mention some days the pain is worse than others - today and yesterday have been pretty noticeable. Three days ago it wasn't bad at all.
Ironically, the reason they removed the wisdom tooth was to alleviate pain I was already feeling in the teeth that still hurt!
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!
