My tooth still hurts after getting cavity filled

I've been to the dentist 4 times in the last 3 months, the first time they filled a cavity in the tooth that was hurting, the last three times was when that same tooth was still hurting. They took new x-rays each time and examined the tooth and could not find anything wrong.

I saw 2 different dentists at this office and both sent me home saying there was nothing wrong. As I am writing this I am in pain as my tooth constantly hurts. Should I keep spending money on dentist visits or just forget it and live with the pain? As each day goes by my tooth hurts more and more. I have tried sensitve teeth toothpaste and special mouthwash and those did not help. My tooth hurts bad when I chew food and or drink cold water.

hi jeepers101, go to 1 or 2 other dentist(s) in a different office to get their opinion(s), if they still find nothing wrong then you might want to consider doing a refill, especi***y if your current filling is a composite filling. i hope you feel better.
