Where to find functional orthodontics?

Hi I am currently trying to find a good functional orthodontist in my area. I am in Durham, North Carolina.
More details: I had braces five years ago and had four lateral incisors extracted for the process. Now I am extremely unhappy with my face because my cheeks appear sunken in (with lines forming around my mouth even though I am only 20) and my smile is very short with a lot of gum showing. And I heard that because of my constricted jaw, I may develop TMJ disorder later. I heard in order to fix my problem, I need a functional orthodontist instead of just any orthodontist. Thoughts on that? Please help me to identify some functional orthodontists I can go to in the area (NC or neighboring states). Thank you!

Re: Where to find functional orthodontics?

There is a thread with dentists recommended by other board participants at the top of the TMJ board. Maybe you could find one listed on there.

Otherwise, have you tried an internet search?
