Should I be concerned... tooth xray reveals bone dark area
Hello
I am new here...first post with lots of questions.
I have had a sensitive tooth for some time (mildly so). It is where the gum meets tooth. Today the pain was bad...more so than ever before. xrays were normal except a dark area on the bone where the teeth attach.
I read that dark areas indicate a less dense area. What would cause that and the pain? The young dentist is sending the xrays to an oral surgeon. She mentioned...possible infection, but really thought not that. Perhaps just an anomly or a cyst. Anonolies are not painful, but perhaps a cyst is? I have no swelling.
Thanks in advance for your insights. I am 56 fyi.
