crowns - emax

As I discussed in my post of November 2012 I had an all porcelain emax crown placed over a root canal on the upper right opposing about 3 very deeply filled (with amalgam) teeth. Since that occurred I have had discomfort on that side, and had the emax crown trimmed a number of times. When I bite together the crown feels like its banging and gliding on the amalgam. It also "bounces" on the occlusion. I have two traditional crowns on the left side (i.e. metal covered with porcelain ) on opposing upper and lower teeth, and I have no pain or discomfort there when I bite down, and the occlusion feels quite "matt" and stable. Has anyone any ideas why this is happening? The lower right amalgam fillings are quite old, but have never (to date) given any problems.

Re: crowns - emax

Sylbia I just replied to your other post about this. I cannot explain why this is happening to you, but I hate this material and have also had bite issues since I had some emax crowns placed. It just doesn't feel as natural as the old style porcelain. I am currently trying to get used to the dental work I've had but am finding it really difficult dealing with emax. It seems dentists don't want to use anything else .
