Temporary crown sits too high. Help!

I had root canal done on my molar 3 weeks ago by an Endodontist.

Went back to my dentist yesterday to get the crown prep done and a temp crown put in place.

The crown definitely feels slightly high because when I bite down I can only feel the temp crown.
Also it feels slightly bulky as with my mouth closed I can sort of feel it on the side of mouth.

Will the permanent crown fit the same or will it be a better fit?
Should I go back to see my dentist and let him know the temp crown sits too high or will this be corrected when I get the permanent one done?

The permanent one will fit properly. You really should not be eating on a temp anyway. Chew on the other side.

You should be perfectly able to chew on the side of the temporary. You need to have the dentist adjust it. Simple visit, won't take long at all.

About the time he chomps down on a gummy bear, he'll wish he hadn't chewed on the temp. I learned that lesson the hard way....
