How long does it take for Lexapro to kick in and how do you know when it does I have been on it 13 days

I also find it gives me headaches and I feel kind of nervous jittery on it so far will this go away

normally, it takes about four weeks to feel the full effects from the drug... the symptoms you named are normal... they should go away... if not, talk to your pdoc...

when i was on lexapro, i was incrediably nauceous... and it didnt do much to me reguarding my depression and i took it for about a month and a half... now i take zoloft and am hoping that that works...

My biggest symptom of depression is obsessive worrying, once that subsided I knew my AD was working. Think of what are the worst symptoms of your depression & then notice if they are letting up. Mine took about 4 weeks to start for things to feel better. Also, I was back in that black hole of hopelessness & feeling like "what should I even get out of bed for" and those feelings are gone now, so you will know if & when it starts working.

My lexapro has started making a real difference now it's been about 7 weeks since i started and started taking 20mg a day three weeks ago. I found it to better than zoloft but a similar sort of feeling. I didn't realise how slowed up my entire body had been until the sypmtoms went away. feeling great but however i would try other anti-depressents if the side effects lasted to long or if they were unbareable.
