Question how long does it take to get off zoloft?

Quick question for you all... I was on 50 mg of zoloft and I'm currently working my way off of it and starting on effexor. I took 25 mg of zoloft per day last week, and now my doctor says to take it every other day for a few more days, but at the moment I'm not really feeling like I need to do that at all... I didn't take it last night and I'm feeling sort of spacy, but it's hard to say what's the zoloft and what's the effexor. But, I was just wondering how long it would take to get a smaller dose like that out of my system, if anyone knows... Thanks!

Re: how long does it take to get off zoloft?

Every person is different. I was on 50 MG of Zoloft and had to stop taking it after 6 months because of a side effect I could not live with. I quit cold turkey and didn't have any problems. From reading other posts I understand a lot of people do have problems so it's best to wean yourself off.
