has anyone been able to lose weight after paxil?
I have quit paxil but gained 20 pounds while on it. I am so depressed that I dont want to leave the house because of the weight gain. I had actualy made a lot of gains before the paxil I was starting to get out more and live my life, start my career, and had better self esteem than I had ever had before. I still had problems with social anxiety and depression so my psych put me on paxil the only problem is that once I gained this 20 pounds on paxil I started to feel terribly low self esteem and now I am just miserable. Has anyone on here been able to lose weight once you quit paxil? How long did it take? I just cant take this, it is so depressing for me. I have read that paxil changes your metabolism, does anyone know if these effects are permanent?

I gained about 20 pounds on Elavil years ago and it took me about a year to get it off. 5 years ago I gained 20 pounds on Celexa and again it took about a year to get the weight off.

I find that my eating patterns change when I'm recovering. I INHALE carbs and that PACKS on the lbs.

Oh yea, Paxil....didn't do anything for me but cause me to gain almost 50 lbs.!!!! I'm doing pretty well losing the weight now. I am now on Welbutrin and its working great, plus I'm counting my calories. Don't give up, just try somthing that fits in your lifestyle and don't sit around being depressed. Get up, get out, and get exercising!!! You can do it!
