Why do people still use prozac?

Are people still taking prozac? isn't that like stone age in the ssri world? Is lexapro like 10x better than prozac with little side effects? just wondering.

No, Lexapro is not 10x better. It's just different. My doctor said Prozac is still the most-prescribed antidepressant and has the least side effects.

None of them are "better" than others. It's just that everyone's depression is different, and the same drugs don't work on everyone.

yes i take prozac, after 4 years of trying every other antidepressant out there, i went back on the first one i ever tried, good old prozac. it is the most stimulating of the ssri's, for most peeople, and seems to cause less side effects since it is less specific on serotonin than the newer ones..zoloft, celexa, lexapro, etc
