Re: I wanted wellbutrin xl but dr wanted to give me wellbutrin SR WHY ???
There might be one reason. Do you have prescription coverage? My health plan will cover Wellbutrin SR, but not Wellbutrin XL. Wellbutrin SR has, or will have soon, a generic version out. It obviously is cheaper for my insurance company to pay for the generic version of Wellbutrin SR rather than the brand name Wellbutrin XL. It might have been due to insurance and/or to save you money. Aside from that, I would recommend that you ask your doctor to clarify his reasons as to why he prescribed the SR rather than the XL version to you. It is your body, health, mind, money, and insurance involved. You are entitled to straight-forward, respectful answers to your questions, not condascending attitudes. If you do not feel that this physician is answering your questions and showing you the respect that you deserve, than, go doctor shopping! You deserve only the best. Good luck.
