Anyone taking Remeron RD (rapid dissolve)?? - Depression Message Board

Hi everyone:
Been diagnosed with depression by my psych dr. and he had prescribed Remeron RD for me. This is a tablet that dissolves on your tongue without having to be swallowed. I'm starting on 15 mg. before bedtime which is supposed to help with sleep. But it's not making me sleepy at all. And during the day I'm so rubbery feeling, nauseous, stomach cramps, headache and shaky. Almost feel like I've had too much to drink and have a difficult time speaking. Told dr. this and he says this will go away after about 2 wks.

I've only been taking it for 4 nights. Told him I've VERY sensitive to meds and he said that starting at this amt. (15 mg.) is really low and yet I feel that it's just a bit too much. Really struggling to go into work and stay the full day.

Anyone have a similar experience on it?

Well my experience is not like yours but I remember I felt pretty crappy when I first started takeing Remeron, I started out with 30mgs though and I did the RD just like you, I hated the taste of them reminded me of St Josephs Baby Asprin. When you get your scrip filled you can ask for the Remeron in Pill form. When I first started takeing it the P doc said I had major anxiety which I had and still have once in awhile. I got the upset stomach and the runs and all that great stuff. But it did go away and It did take me awhile to be abel to finally sleep and it does come it just takes awhile for the med to get into your system and really kick in. I still take now and I have been on it sinse March 2003, The best sleep I have ever had, I dont want to give it up but someday I will, (just not right now.) Going to increase my dose to 45mg pills and see how that works. The weight issue is weighing heavy on me right now. This pill will put weight on most people, increase the dose they say and hopefully the hunger issue will subside a little bit.
