Well, i am on day 27 of taking Prozac and I feel like I'm enjoying life a little better. The only thing that bothers me is the way it "hits" me when it kicks in. It's like this rush and sometimes it makes my head just "hold on for the ride". Is it suppossed to do this?
Is that the serotonin releasing in my brain? Any other symptoms I should be aware of?

I have just come off Prozac after being on it for 18 mths, I didn't have any major side effects except slight lack of concentration. I found it to be very effective, I was really anti-meds before I took it but wouldn't hesitate to go back on it if became depressed again.
Also I have been off it for about 6 weeks and haven't had any withdrawal effects.
You are only on day 27 so you may need to persevere for at least 6 weeks and see if the symptoms you are having even out a bit.
Another thing is don't come off it too soon even if you are't feeling depressed anymore, I tried a few times to come off it (because after 6 mths I felt so good) and started getting depressed again really quickly.

Wolfman67: I was just put on proxac weekly 2 weeks ago..

Last week the first 2-3 days were REAL rough...dizzy, NO appetite, exhausted..by the end of the week (time to take another one) was feeling pretty darn good...

Well, took my second one on Tues..felt rotten again..yesterday was good, today it's like I can feel it when it "releases" and NOT having a great day..just want to go home and go to bed..hope to hell it doesn't take months to get used to this stuff...Hope you get along with it also...Good luck...
