Gaining weight

I have been on Wellbutrin since I had my baby 21 months ago (except I stopped taking them 6 weeks ago). Anyway I stopped taking them because I thought they were causing me to not be able to lose weight and in fact cause me to gain while I tried to lose on weight watchers. My MD diagnosed me with antibodies for hypothyroidism. I am now on synthroid for that. I did well the first 2 weeks on it (lost 4.2 pounds) now I'm back in a slump. I am feeling a little depressed and pissy with others. I wonder if I should return to taking the Wellbutrin. Thoughts and advice are appreciated.

Re: Gaining weight

I can't see Wellbutrin as a big weight gainer. I was on it for a while. Everyone seems to have some issues with ADs and weight gain. You can search the internet for trials on different ADs and their effect on weight. There must be some other factors beside medication to consider. I wish that I knew more about this subject but do not have enough information. I am at least ten pounds overweight and have been trying to lose it for awhile. Intense exercise seems to be the only cure that I see in my immediate future. I should not eat so much ice cream but am not willing to give this one treat up!
