What does Wellbutrin do to dopamine levels?

I was reading that Wellbutrin effects dopamine the most but one site said it balances levels and one site said it lowers levels of dopamine then one said it raises the levels. Does anyone know what it really does? It would make sense if it raised the dopamine levels since what I have read about it dopamine is responsible for feeling happy and all sorts of other things.

Re: What does Wellbutrin do to dopamine levels?

Wellbutrin affects serotonin, norepinephrine, AND dopamine. I don't know if it, along with the other atypical anti-depressants, target one neurotransmitter more than another, though... I think it increases dopamine; anti-psychotics have an antagonistic effect on dopamine and decrease the amounts at the post-synaptic cleft. Besides, depression involves low levels of serotonin and norepinephrine, and I'm almost positive that depressed people have lower levels of dopamine as well.
