Ellah -
I just saw your post about being in college and wanted you to know that your experience sounds identical to mine in college. I started in 96 trying to go full-time for 2 and a half years. Here it is 2002 and I still haven't ever been able to finish a semester with a full load. In fact, most of my hours are for music performance classes - all I had to do was show up for band and orchestra! Don't worry if you can't do it, take what you can. This semester I'm hoping to get 9 hours. That's more than I've ever completed in a semester!
Good luck to you and welcome to the board!
Hi, lanalane, thanks for welcoming me here. When are you going to graduate, and what's your major & plans after graduating? Do your parents know your situation and give you hell about it? Do you have friends who help you out, and how extreme is your depression? Just curious because I've never known anyone else who couldn't get through school because of depression.
i'm in 3rd year university and have PTSD, anxiety, and depression and i'm finding it hard to get through school too. I have a 20 page paper due on monday and i'm not even done my rough copy yet. I started out taking 5 classes then dropped 2 cause of the stress. now i am only taking three and still find it stressful. Take your time, do your best and talk to your prof's if you are having problems. plus you have free counselling at school, i sugest you use it
Hey, nono, how's that paper coming along? I don't envy you right now. Have you used the counseling services at school, and do you find it helpful? I went to a therapist a few times but felt incredibly embarrassed because I'd start crying and couldn't stop. I don't want to do that again. What do your parents think, and do your friends know about the PTSD, anxiety, depression?
