I have been on paxil for 13 months and this drug has helped alot, my question is, anybody having trouble with weight gain, and the last few weeks I have been really tired, anybody deal with this?????
I was never on Paxil for very long - like a month - so I don't know about the side effects. But let your doctor know about these side effects, even if you've been on it for 13 months and then go from there. Good luck.
my husband has been on paxil for about a year now has had a weight gain of about 60 lbs and he eats less that he did a year ago....... good luck..........

Hi heyu!! Yes paxil is well known for it's weight gain no matter how much you eat. I have been on paxil for three years now and gained 30lbs on it. I am finally starting to lose the weight now that i am weaning down off it. But the weaning is killing me. I started to wean off this drug about 2.5 years ago and i am finally down from 40mg to 22mg. I have to shave my pills every single day. If you do decide to get off paxil go very very slowly. This drug will play your friend for as long as you let it. But once you try to come off then it becomes a big enemy. A lot of people i have met from paxil sites were happy being on paxil but wanted off due to weight gain. And now well lets just say we are all in our own hell on earth. Prozac can help you the same as paxil does but with less withdraws at the end. Just please taper slowly if you do go off it.
