Lexapro side affects already? - Depression Message Board

The short of it is...I was on effexor for about a year or so...taking 225mg. I got sick and tired of the sexual sides so I tappered down and stop the drug all together.

Well...as I posted last week, now that I am off effexor the old me is back. I am short with everyone, snappy, tired, and all around just in a bad mood! I hated it.

So...feeling that the old me was back, I went to the doc. He wanted me to give lexapro a try. I have started with 10mg and started my first round yesterday.

After only taking it for two days it appears the sexual sides are present with this drug as well. I can't believe only TWO days and they are back.

On the positive side...I do feel better already.

I not going to take one tomorrow and see if it changes the sexual sides any.

This sure is frustrating!

I am also on lexapro for the pass 4 weeks. The problems I am having is also sexual side effects, yawning all the time and weird sleeping. I am not sure if I am sleeping or if I am awake. I always feel like I am thinking. The sexual side effects suck, but I do feel better with my anxiety and depression. I will wait until my next doctors appointment and see what he says.

I take celexa which is similar to lexapro. Normally I take my medicine at night before I go to bed. So when I think we will be having sex , I don't take it . After sex then I take that scheduled dose.So far this Works well for me. Hope this helps. Also I have used viagra and it really does help along with doing without the celexa before sex.
