Post NEW at depression drugs, need help

Hi, all my life I've been a very depresive person, I am 20 years old and I feel like i've suffered all my life. I am very sensible, and everything makes me sad, I am also pretty insecure and shy.

Most of my depressions were for not being able to get a girlfriend, now I have one, and depressions are comming back because of low sex drive on my gf that makes me feel depress. But I love her and I don't want to leave her and wait other 20 years to get another one, plus she is perfect, the problem is sex.

My parents have always make fun of me when I told them that I had depressions, so I started smoking marihuana be4 to kill depression and it did work. But then they caught me and cut my marihuana supply and they told me "why did you do it", I said "cuz I had depressions", they said "why didn't you ever tell us?".

Yesterday my neighbor shot one of my cat's, we took him to the veterinarian and she said it will be fine, except for the fact that she will have to live with a bullet on its skull that will bleed sometimes for the rest of its life.

I hate people, I hate the horrible things that happen in the world.

So I really want to kill this constant depressions of mine, I want to live normal without starting to feel sad, I don't want to leave my gf.

I don't want to tell my parents cuz they will make fun of me again. So what medicin do you recomend to stop my depression, without having secondary effects, physically or mentally. I want to study without problem of killing too much neurons cuz of the medicin AND THE MOST IMPORTANT, I DON'T WANT MEDICINS TO AFFECT MY SEX DRIVE OR PENIS.

Go see a good Therapist to help you decide what to do. You need to think about yourself and solving your problem not what anyone, anywhere or anywho will think about it. Don't worry about messing up your brain and not being able to function. If you don't do something about your problem you will cease to function in the condition you are describing. Don't be afraid to seek help and don't worry about all the side effects that you have heard of. Everyone is different and you will only get a few if you get any. See a Therapist and get back to your life. Good Luck Young Friend

Try Theraphy first to see if you can't solve this without medications. Some people have no effect on their sex drive and others actually get more active. If you have that problem with one drug, there are others until you find one that works for your priorities in side effects, if you get any at all.
Talk to A Therapist. No one can put you on a drug unless you agree to it.

See A Therapist. NOW !!!

Medications for depression with no side effects?, Hmmm, anyone know of any? If your girlfriend you have will not stick by you through good and bad times, if all she is into you is for sex, then what kind of relationship do you have.. and will u have in your future? You are not just a sperm donor or a hot rod for her to have an orgasm on. (uh, i am full aware how tacky that sounded.) There is more to a relationship than sex, if that is all that she wants, how long will your relationship actually last?
I can't imagine why u would want to be placed in that kind of position, when u ask her if she loves u? is it for your boner or does she want you for you.. ?
are u allowed to say "no, not tonight, I have a headache.." without her leaving u?

OK, I am not trying to depress u, and I am sure someone is not going to like what I just wrote, but it's been said and is out of the way for the moment.

Dude, You need help..

As long as medical doctor's rule out all organic (physical) reasons that could cause depression,( and sustaining an erection,) it's onto rectifying your mental health. Depression is nothing to be ashamed of. YOUR parents should not tease and belittle u with these issues you have going on in your life. ANY doctor should treat you with respect and actually care about you as a patient, not a number on a chart or a case study for teaching or training.
If the doctor finds that u suffer from chronic depression, you will need to be treated. Please get help immediately. You do not need to feel miserable the rest of your life.

Same goes for getting and sustaining an erection, You doctor should be able to explain what's going on with it and how he is going to help U fix it, as long as there isn't a physical issue with you and getting a proper erection he will either prescribe u a medication or inform you that the treatment for depression will fix a few other issues as well.

This isn't going to be an over night fix, there are no magic potions, magic fairy dust or a magicians wand to wave over you, It takes time..

If You girlfriend is truly a friend she will be with you no matter what happens, one day she might be the one who needs help.. she is going to want the same support that only a true friend can provide.

If you do not now, You may wish to start a exercise program, start out slowly, don't hurt or sprain anything, change your diet a bit, cut down on sweets, and drink plenty of fluids. You won't be doing a 26 mile marathon 2 days later.. If walking or running isn't your style, and u like to swim, try swimming..

Whatever you do, get help.. You do not have to go this alone and u do not half to suffer any longer. EVERYTHING doesn't have to cost money, so if you do not have insurance or wish to keep things away from your parents, try a free clinic or find a doctor that will accept weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payments. That way you Can At least get treatment that you require.

Do not allow anyone to push you around or make u feel lesser of a person because of what issues u have right now. You are treatable and eventually the gray skies will disappear and life will look a lot better for you.

If you become suicidal, please contact emergency services in your area.

For further medical information, check out this healthboards resource page.

It's not the end of the world.

Good Luck, Take care..

And remember,

Caring is a two way street.
