Question What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

I Am Taking 10mg Of Lorazapam Three Times A Day, And One 10mg Miligram Of Lexapro. I Get A Calming Feeling From The Lorazapam And It Helps Me To Sleep At Night, But I Am Not Sure The Lexapro Is Doing Much, So I Might Need A Higher Dosage Or A Different Antidepressant.

I Have A Clinical Depression And An Anxiety Disorder.

What Are You Taking And Does It Help You?

Re: What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

trg247, I know from one of your earlier posts that you were planning to get inpatient treatment. Are you still planning to do that? All those drugs must be keeping you worn out, I would think (though maybe they help more than hinder??). I hope the inpatient treatment will help also. Best of luck to you.

Hey there,

I am taking 150mg of Effexor XR and 5mg of Activan at night. I am hoping to wean off the Activan within the next few months since it helped me sleep prior to taking Effexor XR.

It seems to be working for me after 3 weeks at the 150mg dosage. (1 week at 37mg, 3 weeks at 75mg)

I don't know much about Lexapro, but it seems that your dosage is very low at 10mg.

Re: What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

I take:
300mg Effexor XR 150 am 150 pm
500 mg Depakote
8mg Risperidal (4 mg am 4 mg pm)
200 mg Topamax (which I quit taking)

I am Bipolar supposedly, but I am always depressed and seldom feeling what they call manic. I have psychotic featers as well.

Re: What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

I have been on this combo, previously listed on this thread, for close to four months. After I spent two months in the hospital the doctor and I came up with this combo. The big problem I have is sleep, takes forever to fall asleep then I sleep for twelve plus hours.

take care

Hi,

I take Zoloft (100-150 mg.)(depending...) and doxepin for sleep some nights. I have some klonapin if I really need it. Yep, works for me.

Re: What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

Hi Judi,

I have depression and anxiety and for a bonus I have panic attacks.

I'm taking 1 mg xanax 4x's a day...
25 mgs of libruim 2 x's a day
Both for anxiety...................
200 mgs elavil (amiltriptyline) at bedtime. Helps a lot with sleep. Been
a good AD for me 20 years and counting.
10 mgs lexapro 1 x a day

Yes, they are helping me to a great extent. I hope everyone gets what they need to feel well. I would be lying if I said all of my days were good. Some good, some bad, but a lot better than before. TC and have a good day....Connie

Re: What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

At the moment I take 150mg Sertraline at night, and 40mg Propranolol three times a day - these are the best I have tried so far.

Re: What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

We have finally seemed to hit on a combo that works for me:

120mg Cymbalta (30mg 4 times a day)
2mg Xanax XR morn and night
16mg Rozrem for sleep at night
1mg dissolvable (emergency only) niravam

Been on this since Dec and ork better then anything else we've tried. I'm diagnosed with major depression, anxiety and panic disorder and PTSD.

Re: What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

I take 20 mg Prozac and wellbutrin XL (one a day). I see my Dr. Friday, thank God because this combo isn't helping any more.

Re: What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

So far, I've been diagnosed with depression. I'm taking:

300 mg of Wellbutrin (two in the morning, two at noon)
and 60 mg of Cymbalta.

I've been on Cymbalta for about two months, and it still hasn't helped. I began Wellbutrin (a 150mg dosage) about 3-4 weeks ago. For the first few days, it did nothing. Then for about 3 days it made me energetic, almost manic. A bit spacey; I kept cleaning and organizing and making to-do lists. But that quickly went away, and I was depressed again.

So, yesterday my psychiatrist put me on the 300mg dosage, which I started this morning. So far, nothing. I've already missed about 2 weeks of school, so this isn't good.

Re: What Meds Are You Taking And Are They Helping?

At this point I feel pretty lucky .I am taking 20 mg celexia once a day .(at night)
I think it really helps .Sometimes if I get anxious or panicky in the early part of the day I have taken another celexia .IF i find myself still anxious at night and cant sleep I take trazadone . The only thing I dont like is the dizziness I sometimes feel as a result of taking these with blood pressure meds and diabetes meds that also list dizziness as a side effect. This however is a small price to pay for for the benefit of being able to to otherwise function and feel good most of the time .I am in a lot more control even when I feel down.
