Question Anyone heard of "Serenity"?

Hi there,

I came across a web-site promoting Serenity. It's suppose to help with moods, depression, stress, and a few other ailments.

It states that it is:
* 100% Natural & Safe
* Effective
* Does not require a prescription
* Non-Addictive & Non-Toxic
* Absolutely NO side effects

I would apreciate any input whether it's something you've heard about or if you've tried it personally.

Thanks.

Re: Anyone heard of "Serenity"?

Hi Sugar,

I did a quick search for lithium orotate (the generic name for Serenity) and there are a number of things I found. First it's not FDA approved. Secondly a study (url below) has shown it to be worse on the kidneys that ordinary lithium carbonate. Overall the impression I get is that lithium orotate doesn't sound like a well researched medication and personally I'd stay clear of it, you could be better off going to one of those Cure All medicine wagons they had 200yrs ago!

A quote from the abstract:
Quote:
It seems inadvisable to use lithium orotate for the treatment of patients.
Best,
Charme

Thumbs up Re: Anyone heard of "Serenity"?

Hey Charme,

Thanks for the link regarding lithium orotate. Since I hadn't done any research online yet, that info came in handy.

Needless to say, I won't be trying Serenity anytime soon.

Sugar

Re: Anyone heard of "Serenity"?

No problem, and I'm glad to hear you wont be trying it. There are plenty of alternatives available. Better to find the renowned generics before being pulled into all the commercialism. Glad I could help.

It's a catchy name though... if only true serenity did come in pill form.. It's never that simple though!

Re: Anyone heard of "Serenity"?

Bah no, it's the name I gave to a piece of art I did recently. I quite liked the name until now!
