I just want to share my experience with the hope that my story will help someone.
Three years ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and was prescribed Labetalol (beta blocker). Over the course of those three years I suffered from dizzy spells, lightheadedness, loss of concentration, fatigue, mood swings, loss of interests, loss of mental sharpness, and gradually increasing severe depression. I didn't start to have these feelings overnight; it happened very gradually and so did my thoughts of having an unknown, undiagnosed illness and slowly going mad.
I was seen a few times at my dr.s complaining of the same above symptoms. I was put through bloodwork and cat scans several times only to reveal NOTHING which increased my hopelessness of EVER feeling better.
It wasn't until a PA at my dr's office made the connection between my symptoms and the beta blocker that I have finally gotten rid of this thick, black cloud that has been coating my brain...I literally felt as if I was possessed.
It's been two weeks since switching over to an ACE inhibitor, and I can't get over how much better I feel!!!!!!
