Wellbutrin for a week-do the side effects go away

I have been on Wellbutrin for a week. Since yesterday, I have been experiencing many emotions as well as feeling what I can only describe as paranoia. To those that have been on Wellbutrin long term...did you experience this, and how long did it take for the side effects to subside? I am willing to ride this out if it goes away.

Re: Wellbutrin for a week-do the side effects go away

I have now been on Wellbutrin for two weeks. I feel so much better emotionally and mentally. However, the side effects are adding up. I wish I was doing well physically. After talking with my pharmacist, I am weaning off.

Are you going on a different med? What side effects were there?

Re: Wellbutrin for a week-do the side effects go away

Side effects - These are a little embarrassing, but here goes:
Constipation, Very upset stomach, GERD, Metal taste, Dry mouth & Incontinence. On top of that I am having an allergic reaction with hives and severe itching so of course I am no longer weaning off. I just stopped taking it.

I tried Zoloft which I was responding well to, but I turned out to be allergic to that as well.

I think my depression has a lot to do with my age and pre-menopause. I really don't want to try anything else as the list of my allergies to meds is building. I am now taking Benadryl to try to alleviate the itching and hives.
