Re: Trazodone and Zoloft

I do not know alot about Zoloft but I take numerous meds and have taken Trazodone in the past. I split my meds up to the ones that have a little kick to them like Wellbutrin and Effexor so I take them in the morning. My night meds are pretty sedating like Lithium and Remeron along with my current sleeping med Temazapam. Trazodone works pretty quickly and the only problem I had with it is my body got use to it really quick, under two months.

Yes, I did at one time. I don't usually use a sleep aid anymore. Well, sometimes benedryl, but that's about it.

Did you have a question about the combo?

Trazadone REALLY would knock me out for a thorough sleep, I must say.

Re: Trazodone and Zoloft

Oh Lord i wish the trazodone would knock me out. just started last night. another dr. had prescribed it with remeron and i had a reation since the remeron stopped my BP meds from working. PCP wants me to try just trazodone for sleep. was prescibed at 50 mg. (1 or 2) PCP told me to start with 25 mg. went right to sleep but was still up 3 hours later and wide awake.
I haven't gotten more than 4 hours sleep a night since sept.

Re: Trazodone and Zoloft

I take my antidepressant in the mornings, Effexor and Cymbalta. I take Ativan at night. I have tried Trazadone, Seroquel, and Ambien. None of them work because of my anxiety about sleeping. The Ativan helps my body relax and controls the anxiety so that I can sleep.

As far as I know, Traz is not a good option if you have BP issues.
