I ONLY HAVE THEM MAYBE ONCE EVERY 4-5 MONTHS. LAST NIGHT I FELT ONE COMING ON, I WAS LAYING IN BED GET READY TO GO TO SLEEP AND THAT FEELING JUST STARTED, YOU NO THE FEAR AND THEN NOT BEING ABLE TO LAY STILL HAVING TO GET UP AND MOVE AROUND. I WAS OUT OF MY PAXIL, BUT I GOT THEM TODAY.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT BRINGS THESE ATTACKS ON, I WAS NOT UPSET ABOUT ANYTHING OR ANYTHING. hELP!!!!
They differ from person to person. Mine are usually triggered by feeling trapped or overwhelmed.

trg, that feeling of being trapped bringing on panic is incredible. I think that it can also come from feeling that we are not in control and we might have to do something that we don't want to do. I guess this is loss of self direction/power?
Its nasty. One of the worst ones I had was at my parents hous on Christmas and for some reason my brain started screaming "If you don't get out of here something bad is going to happen" and it would not go away. I ended up driving 150 kilometers in the middle of the night during a snow storm just to get somewhere safe. To this day I do not know what caused it. I have had a couple of health anxiety attacks but they were nothing compared to the christmas one.\

Thank y ou all for answering my post. You all answered my question very good. I just wondered if it was maybe a drop in serotonin levels that caused it or what? I never had them until I entered into menopause. Went from doctor to doctor for months trying to find out what was wrong with me, not one of them could find out what was wrong with me. Then one doctor gave me paxil to try, and the second day they were gone I felt like a totally new person. I have been out of them about a week, so maybe that brought it on.
If anyone else comes up with any explanations let me know please.
going cold turkey off of any antidepressant may trigger a panic attack.
