Basically Im just trying to think of a rational explanation as to why I'm acting the way I am at the moment.
I admit I'm not the most cheerful person in the world and I never had be but over the past year I've been severly moody with boyfriend, my parents... now this didn't make me think until recently I'm just constantly in a mood with everyone, I've not felt happy about anything in ages and nothing cheers me up and I'm just not impressed with anything like I used to be. And recently I don't want to go out with my friends, I just want to stay in all the time and I don't know why I just want to spend time with myself. I'm in university and I'm just not interested in meeting anyone or going out and socialising with them and I used to love doing stuff like that.
I just want to know is this depression? or just some kind of personality trait?

Sounds like it is a change in you. I don't think that anything that changes can be a personality trait. What types of changes have occurred in your life over this time period?

Many of the symptoms of depression are present. Generally, an official diagnosis of depression would require several symptoms, many of which you appear to have, over a period of time, like 6 months. If you are at the university, you probably have access to a counselor and might consider a visit. Although there may be some personality issues at play, they would generally be consistent over time and you would have become quite familiar with them by now. Do some internet searching on depression and see what you can learn about it.
