How long does it take to get off Luvox? Major withdrawl.

I have been on Luvox for about 10 years. I found in the past year it has not worked for me as well as in the past. It could have to do with the death of my Mom earlier this year. In any case, after consulting with my Dr. we decided to put me on Wellbutrin SR. I was on 150 mg per day of Luvox. My Dr. had me cut down to 100 over three days and then 50 over the next three days and then start the Wellbutrin. I have been experiencing severe side effects including long, long, crying spells, anger, irrationality, loss of attention, dizzyness and disorientation.

Isn't this a rather quick weaning process? How long have any of you taken to get off Luvox?

I would say that is a very quick drop from Luvox! What you are experienceing are withdrawal symptoms......ask your Dr if you can add in a small amount of Luvox and Taper slowly going down a small amount each week!
