I am on 20 mgs of lexapro that works well for me. I have tried all kinds of meds at night to help me sleep and Klonpin had always helped me with anxiety to help me sleep at night. Well I guess I have built up a tolerance to it and now its not working very well. My Dr said I could take Klonpin with the Trazadone and see if that works at night or I can try Risperdal. Has anyone tried any of these for insomina and did they work in combos or by themselves??
this is only my opinion, but try to stay away from antipsychotics like risperdal, if you can. i know that your dr. may start you on a very little dose (0.5mg), but you never know what it can do over time. it has a tendency to lower white blood cells in some people (hyponatremia). i've seen it happen. this is not to frigthen you, but to inform you. seroquel is newer and a bit different, and drs. now lean more towards prescribing this type of drug than the old ones...
good luck whatever you do.!!!

I am currently on Mirtazipine, Trazadone and effexor (which was added recently). Trazodone helped with sleep for me for quite a long time, but of course every time it stops working I have to increase it. I also tried respirodol and seroquel (spelling?). respirodol helped with sleep, but I found it made me more anxious. Seroquel didn't help at all.
