Hey Sly! Glad to hear the drama has settled down. Drama is so inevitable when you get a bunch of teen girls together! I don't remember that much drama when I was that age. My daughter is 8yrs old and the stories she comes home with leaves me speechless and in awe. Sometimes I don't know what advice to give to her, poor girl.
Chaos, you're such a sweet son for doing things yourself so that your mom can rest. I'm the opposite. I go over to my mom's house and ask her to cook me my favorite dish. I'm so spoiled like that, lol!
The week is mellowing down. My brother's graduation was yesterday and he left with my dad tonight to go on vacation for the summer. The kids are sad that my dad won't be around all summer, but they sure as heck are excited that this is their last week of school. To answer your question Sly, they start school the day after Labor day and finish in mid June with one week off for spring break and two weeks off for Christmas. I've no idea why they get out so late. My daughter's last day is tomorrow and my son's preschool graduation is Friday. Then the chaos begins, oh joy!!
Things have been going great the past several weeks and I'm (and my husband, too) getting comfortable with being happy. Graduation on Sunday was awesome. My parents were so proud because I'm the first one in the family to graduate college. Both my parents are only a couple of classes away from their degree. I don't know why they won't just finish already. For the first time since their divorce, they were able to swallow their pride and be civil and happy in each other's presence, unlike at my wedding! But now my dad is urging me to get my PhD. Like this isn't enough for him?! I guess that's just the way he is. *sigh*
Tomorrow I'll be in my daughter's classroom until they get out at noon. I'll be helping them with the end of the year party, serving pizza and root beer floats, yum! Then I'll spend the rest of the day alone with her doing whatever she wants to do. That should be nice since I hardly ever get time alone with her.
I hope everyone had a nice day today and I hope you all enjoy tomorrow!
