I need help/advice

I have ptsd and use rx's to control it. I'm out of my rx right now and i'm losing it.

I live in md and my psychiatrist is in nc. She hasn't returned my call since I left her a message last week. I made an appt with a new psychiatrist here in md, but it isn't until 8/10.

My insurance requires 3 month supply mail order service. I called my general practioner and left a message. The receptionist said someone will call back in 1-2 hours. There are no guarantees that he will get my meds. Only if he feels "comfortable" with it.

I haven't felt this unstable in a long time. My husband doesn't understand. He doesn't have a clue about mental illness. In fact he has ridiculed me about it in almost every fight that we have ever had. My family is all either in PA or NC. I don't want any of them to know what is happening right now because it will be drama if they know.

I can't stop shaking and crying. And i'm not sure if anyone has the withdrawal symptom where it feels like electric currents happening through your body, but it is like back to back right now.

I feel like the worst mom ever right now because i'm not giving my son the attention that he wants. I just don't want to be bothered. Isn't that horrible?

I thought I was gonna quit my meds all together, but now I can't imagine living every day like this.

Babykam,

Hang in there!!! I know the feeling you're talking about with the electric shock currants going thru your body, when I was on zoloft it happened to me thru the feet & up And when on effexor around the mouth, been off meds for 5 months and still have an eye that twitches. Dr. says it will go away. Hopefully the rx will call soon!! Hang Tough!! And you're not a bad Mom, just do deep breathing, try meditation, But first of all realize that you are strong and you will get thru this!!

Hugs

Re: I need help/advice

Hey Sweetie,

You are being so hard on yourself. You are going to get through this. Do not give up. There is a solution. Also, you are not a bad mother--you are a human being so give yourself a break!

This has happened to me on several occasions. I have really bad anxiety and I've run out of my meds and been unable to get them right away.
I thought I was going to lose my mind. My skin was on fire and I could not function. I felt like I was coming unglued.

Have you had your doctor's office page your doctor. This is an emergency or what I would consider an emergency and your doctor needs to be paged.
If all else fails you can always go to the hospital.
Do whatever it takes to stay safe and take care of yourself.

Please let us know what happens.

E

Re: I need help/advice

Hey all. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I went to a new Dr that night because my supposed regular dr wouldn't fill my perscriptions. The new dr did nd she was much more compassionate and sympathetic. Thank God for that!

Anyways, my new psychiatrist is nice. I saw her for the first time yesterday. She took me off the Pexeva and gave me Celexa. I had gained alot of weight with the pexeva. So I hope this new combo of meds will be better for me. If I can get better than I can go off the meds (slowly this time lol) for good.

Thanks so much for your kind words and support!

-Jessica
