Anyone successful in coming off Prozac?

I came off cold turkey and it took 4 months to feel the effects - awful - panic attacks - heart racing - crying all the time - completely negative hopeless feelings all the time. After 3 months - it has become a little easier although I am now wondering if I ever will get back to normal. I was on Prozac for 5 years and was on 20mg and then stupidly went cold turkey. I am desperate to hear from others who have made it through without other drugs. I am very scared that I might have to go back on it because I have heard that one's chemistry might never recorrect itself. Love to hear your story if you have come off Prozac and feel good.

Re: Anyone successful in coming off Prozac?

I had to come of prozac cold turky because it was making me parinoid to the max. I was afraid to drive because I was afraid I would get in an accident. Afraid I was going to get laid off at work. It was crazy.

Re: Anyone successful in coming off Prozac?

I slowly weaned off of it back in January. I was on it for eight years. After the third month being off, I started to feel depressed again. At that point, I started taking 5-HTP along with the B complex I was already taking. I feel fine now except my sex drive still hasn't returned. No more meds for me.

Re: Anyone successful in coming off Prozac?

Take MAGNESIUM and you won't need antidepressants for the rest of your life.

With magnesium, you will no longer have any panic attack, it suppresses the feeling of stress and it will calm your heart too. Importantly, no nasty side-effects at all like with ADs.
