Re: Medication not helpful against stress. Please help
I know that when I get stressed I try to stop what I'm doing and take some deep breaths to try to stop the immediate reaction to start thinking negatively about what is going on. Sometimes everything feels like a major issue, but once it's past I realize it wasn't that big a deal at all and a couple of weeks down the road I won't even remember it. The anticipation is usually the worst part of it.
Sometimes your lifestyle can affect the total amount of stress you feel. Since he's diabetic he probably already watches his diet. Does he exercise? Again I find deep breathing exercises really helpful. Along with meditation and yoga.
I hope this helps a little.
